The Rolling Stones Honky Tonk Woman Lyrics

Last updated: 09/30/2013 01:44:41 PM

I met a gin soaked, bar-room queen in Memphis,
She tried to take me upstairs for a ride.
She had to heave me right across her shoulder
'Cause I just can't seem to drink you off my mind.

It's a honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

I layed a divorcee in New York City,
I had to put up some kind of a fight.
The lady then she covered me in roses,
She blew my nose and then she blew my mind.

It's a honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

(Yeah!) It's a honky tonk women.
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

(Yeah!) It's a honky tonk women.
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

Which is it? | Reviewer: Ghostbuster | 8/10/12

Different links have two different interpretations of the last stanza of the song. (Which I LOVE, btw.) One says, "The lady, then she covered me in roses." This one says, "The lady then she cornered me in Rose's." So, which one is correct. (Don't want to sound like a dork when I'm being a dork singing it at parties!:)
