The Beatles Golden Slumbers Lyrics

Last updated: 09/23/2009 11:00:00 AM

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

Greatest medley of the Beatles | Reviewer: Rati Tordia | 9/23/09

"Golden Slumbers" is originally written by Paul McCartney after he saw sheet music for Thomas Dekker's (1572 – 1632) lullaby. This beautiful song is the first part of the Beatle's medley Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End.
George Martin made wonders with his orchestra in this medley. Great composition, great performing and really greatest album - Abbey Road!
I think this is one of the most powerful compositions in the rock and pop culture. It musi be rated between 20 greatest hits of all time!
