Going, Going, Gone Lyrics - Bob Dylan

Review The Song (2)

Just reached a place
Where the willow don't bend;
There's not much more to be said,
It's the top of the end.
I 'm going
I 'm going
I 'm gone.

I 'm closing the book
On the pages of the text,
And I don't really care
Ooh, what happens next...
I 'm just going
I 'm going
I 'm gone.

Been hanging on threads,
I've been playing it straight.
Now I've just got to cut loose
Before it gets late...
I 'm going
I 'm going
I 'm gone.

Grandma said, "Boy, go and follow your heart,
And you'll be fine at the end of the line,
All that's gold doesn't shine….
Don't you and your one true love ever part".

'Been walking the road
I've been living on the edge
Now I've just got move
Before I get to the ledge….
I'm going
I'm going
I'm gone.

There's an old saying that "True love never runs smooth". From experience in trying to help counsel people who are hurt like what is expressed in "Going, Going, Gone". It seems that the place to start is in communication. If communication stops, the relationship stops. Hind's vision, looking back, after emotions have settled down,
being willing to try to understand what hurt you, and the relationship so much that it was broken will help heal the heart. Even if the relationship can't be remedied. When our heart is healed, it's easier to love again, let go of past pain,forgive, and forget. Putting it all in the hands of the Lord. "Casting all our care upon Him, for He careth for you". I Peter 5:7 "With wisdom is an house build; and by understanding it is established." Proverbs 24:3 "Unless God builds the house, those who build it, build it in vain". Psalm 127:1 "Going, Going, Gone" helped someone to be healed of the emotional pain she felt when things went wrong. How? Because she was able to really forgive and love him again, when her heart was touched by the pain he may have felt in losing her. She then, was very sorry for hurting him. "If Only She knew" is written By Glory Cloud Revelation influenced by this experience, and submitted with gratitude to Bob Dylan for writing songs and singing them the way he does so that they reach deep down into our souls and stir up what needs to still be healed and given to the Lord.
Thank you Bob, we love you.

If Only She Knew...

If only she would have known,
Why he chose to leave her alone,
Why he hung up that phone;
If only tears werent blinding her blue eyes to see
Her true love and her were still meant to be.

If only he would have told her
What was hidden deep
Inside his anger, that made her weep;
She may not have given up her dream
In spite of the mountain being so steep.

Now, the road is winding down;
And though they searched high and low,
Up and down, around and around,
They could never find the love they had for each other
In another lover.

If only she knew his heart was breaking, too,
When he hung up that phone, and she thought they were through;
She would have forgiven him, and herself sooner
For the wrong that was done,
Hopefully waiting for him to come.

*Hope deferred maketh the heart sick,
But when the desire comes it is a tree of life.
Proverbs 13:12

Going,Going Gone
This song could set the atmosphere to a Shakespearean tragedy like Romeo and Juliet or it could be a ballad of hope for when trouble comes. Even though "going, going, gone" may mean giving up, "I'm closing the door on the pages of the text, I don't really care what happens next". It also, could mean finding a better solution to ease the pain of hopelssnes...Grandma said, "Boy, go and follow your heart. ..You'lll be fine at the end of the line".
In the mean time, the intensity of the emotions described in this song, "I've been living on the edge, now I've just got to go , before I get to the ledge." is similiar to how Ramona felt in the following love story lyrics of "Wounded in Love" By Glory Cloud Revelation. ("young love, first love, filled with deep emotions"):

Wounded in Love by Glory Cloud Revelation

Her young body lay in bed,
Struggling against the drugs that tried to make her dead;
While she remembered her true love
Who had stayed away too long,
And knew that with him, and him alone,
Is where she belonged.

With all her heart and soul, she called out his name,
Then, in the sound of foot steps around the cabin he came;
Like a bright light of beckoning
In a visionary dream, that wasnt a scheme;
Her spirit was being drawn alone to go
Through a tunnel that led beyond what she did know.

An enemy watched her dying in her bed,
He would not lend a hand,
He wished her dead...
A jealous rage came over him
Cause he knew her heart belonged to another man,
And he wanted to ruin that plan.

She cried for her lost lover, from whom she did depart,
Oh, Johnny, you stole my heart!
My love for you was true,
I left with him because I couldnt stand the pain
Of thinking you didnt love me, too.
Before I die, I want you to know, I loved you so.

Standing at the crossroads I see a light
Beckoning me to the other side
Through a dark tunnel tonight,
But something tells me deep inside
I need somebody to take me there
Thats when the Saviour came and took away her despair.

When she opened her eyes all she could see
Was a beautiful sunny morning, painless and free...
Wild flowers looked like colorful smiles
Underneath the giant redwood tree,
She was happy to be alive and free!
Instead of dying at twenty-three.
