Existentialism on Prom Night Lyrics
Artist(Band):Straylight Run
When the sun came up,
We were sleeping in.
Sunk inside our blankets,
Sprawled across the bed.
And we... were dreaming.
There are moments when,
When I know it ends.
The world revolves around us,
And we're keeping it,
Keep it all going,
This delicate balance,
Vulnerable, all knowing.
Sing like you think no one's listening,
You would kill for this,
Just a little bit, just a little bit,
You would kill for this.
Sing like you think no ones listening,
You would kill for this,
Just a little bit, just a little bit,
You would, you would...
Sing me something soft,
Sad and delicate.
Or loud and out of key,
Sing me anything.
We're glad for what we've got,
Done with what we've lost.
Our whole lives laid out,
Right in front of us.
Sing like you think no one's listening,
You would kill for this,
Just a little bit, just a little bit,
You would
Sing like you think no one's listening,
You would kill for this,
Just a little bit, just a little bit,
You would, you would
Sing me something soft,
Sad and delicate.
Or loud and out of key,
Sing me anything...

When I first bought their CD in '04, I chose the song with the most interesting title. I fell in love. It's one of those songs that make you feel good, no matter your mood.
All in all, it's great.

I love this song. I first saw the music video on TV and the I forgot the name so I spent 2 months trying to ask people if they've heard of it and trying to find it on the internet to listen to it. I finally did and I realized how much better it was the second time.

It's one of those songs that make you feel infinite. The title helps you feel that way too. The title creates a setting for you that overall sets the mood. Have you ever been to a prom? Or seen in the movies where you wish you were there.. or you wish you were apart of that special day when you just feel...infinite? This song, it practically absorbs a positive energy whether your 35 or 18 at your senior prom. It'll make you want to abuse the repeat button and it'll send you on your very on personal rollar coaster ride of happiness. I know this sound corny in so many ways, but honestly I couldn't give a flying fuck. =D Also, if you like the song and you can watch the music video and its twice as good. The song is shown on a train with random people talking the song as if it wasn;t a song but words you would every day say to a friend. Also there is a deaf couple signing the song and it very touching. I know sign language and if anyone has ever seen two people talk in sign language you might understand how beautiful SHOWING how you feel through your hands..than just saying it.
remember:
Sing like you think no ones listening.
