Review The Song (2)Print the Lyrics
Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near
Look at him working
Darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there
What does he care?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved

All the lonely people (Ah, look at all the lonely people)
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people (Ah, look at all the lonely people)
Where do they all belong?

Review about Eleanor Rigby (Strings Only)

Life at the chapel | Reviewer: Dave | 12/2/09

Eleanor lived in the church and basicly did the housework. She lived a very lonely life, making herself very pretty for someone she used to love. Because of her lonely existance she committed suicide. The father buried her but still caried on his (pathetic) existance.

About Eleanor Rigby | Reviewer: Mike L. | 6/24/07

People have asks from time to time " Was Eleanor Rigby a real person ? " The answer is yes ; she was a real person . The real Eleanor Rigby was born in 1895 and lived in Liverpool , Wales ; possibly in the suburb of Woolton , where she married a man named Thomas Wood . She died on October 10 , 1939 at the age of 44 . Whether she's the lady Paul inspired the song to is not known ; but her tomb has become a landmark to Beatles fans visiting Liverpool .
