Drive My Car Lyrics - The Beatles

Review The Song (8)

Asked a girl what she wanted to be
She said baby, can't you see
I wanna be famous, a star on the screen
But you can do something in between

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you

I told that girl that my prospects were good
she said baby, it's understood
Working for peanuts is all very fine
But I can show you a better time

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you

Beep beep'm beep beep yeah

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you

I told that girl I can start right away
When she said listen babe I got something to say
I got no car and it's breaking my heart
But I've found a driver and that's a start

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah

my forever favorite! | Reviewer: soLo | 3/7/13

This song has always been my absolutely favourite song and it will always be. It's not that kind of song you listen 10 times a day and after a week you hate it, no it's a song which you totally enjoy to listen to from time to time..:D

This is a reply to "The Hey Jude Meaning" comment | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/22/10

Hey Jude was written by Paul McCartney and was originally going to be called "hey Jud"(no clue why), But because of John and his wifes devorce, Paul decided to change the name of it to "Hey Jude"(Jude is short for Julian), to express John's sons feelings about the divorce.

The Song | Reviewer: Ayshwarya | 6/8/10

According to me, simple as it is, the song still covers very strongly the mindset of girls and its still valid even in today's generation. The point being very simple, girls like their own space with things, otherwise they feel very choked. Its a whole view on the begining of woman's liberation and all that Jazz. That is when woman started to realise how powerful they can be and the strong role that they play in society. And considering how they had and still continue to have such a huge female fan following, they probably didn't want to piss them off :P

Not too forget, they've done it so humorously that it just adds a feather to their cap. Afterall, they were entertainers and absoulutely amazing story tellers :)

The Hey Jude Meaning!!! | Reviewer: Carlos Carballo | 2/26/10

Hey jude, was written by Paul Mcartney soon after John lennon and the Julian Lennon's Mother get divorced, Paul was very close to Julian and decided to write a song for him, First the song was called Hey Jules cause Julians are usually called that way, but it did not sound very good, and was changed to Hey Jude.

Thats all.

the beatles da vinci code | Reviewer: Amanda | 12/30/09

i agree... alittle. i adore hey jude and would love to know the meaning, but some of the songs, like i am the walrus, arent meant to make sense or have any hidden meaning. some songs they wrote, are easily understandible,,,(cant buy me love, do you want to know a secret...) and some they just wrote. i dont think the beatles gatheres i a circle and spent hours trying to come up with a way to hide the meaning of a song. they just wrote what they wanted.
in english, my teacher had us write about yellow submarine. what we thought it meant, how we caoul dall live in a yellow submarine, and thats how it goes. everyone can think what they want, but you never really know do you? its fun to try to come up with different theories, but its also great to just enjoy the beatle's masterpieces.

what code? | Reviewer: anonymous again | 12/9/07

hey milinda!
why don't we just go by the humour in the lyrics and the irony of the situation.... about a guy who is being used as a stepping stone by a girl who wants to make it big.... its so intelligently written
its just that we like to complicate things... one great song and people pounce on it to tear it apart... so just relax, sit back and enjoy :)

the beatles da vinci code | Reviewer: Milinda Kodikara | 6/25/07

I am sure John and his accomplise weren't the only ones involved in the beatles lyrics and there is a hidden da vinci code in the lyrics.

such as I am the walrus, hey jude, and so on....

can anyone dechipher the code.....I believe I have for a lot of the songs.....then again I am a medically diagnosed schizophernic so what would I know.
