Elvis Presley Dark Moon Lyrics

Last updated: 12/19/2009 10:00:00 AM

(Words & music by Ned Miller)
Dark moon, way up high up in the sky
Oh, tell me why, oh tell me why
You've lost your splendor
Dark moon, what is the cause your life withdraws
Is it because, is it because I've lost my love

Mortals have dreams of love's perfect schemes
But they don't realize, their love can sometimes bring the

Dark moon, way up high up in the sky
Oh, tell me why, oh tell me why
You've lost your splendor
Dark moon, what is the cause your life withdraws
Is it because, is it because I've lost my love

Mortals have dreams of love's perfect schemes
But they don't realize, their love can sometimes bring the

Dark moon, way up high up in the sky
Oh, tell me why, oh tell me why
You've lost your splendor
Dark moon, what is the cause your life withdraws
Is it because, is it because I've lost my love

Mortals have dreams of love's perfect schemes
But they don't realize, their love can sometimes bring the

Dark moon, way up high up in the sky
Oh, tell me why, oh tell me why
You've lost your splendor
Dark moon, what is the cause your life withdraws
Is it because, is it because I've lost my love
What is the cause your light withdraws
Is it because, is it because I've lost my love

"why it's the cause your LIGHT withdraws is it because, is it because I've lost my love" - this is the letter I have at home, The girls who sung this lovely song are Mandy Barnett, Teresa Brewer, Bonnie Guitar, Loretta Lynn, and Patti Page.

I had a 45 record of this song done by a woman. I don't her name. And these are the same words that was on the record. and this was in 1956. good job.

...their love can sometimes bring the dark moon way up high in the sky....does that makes sense?
I don't know. I just heard the song done by Elvis and friends in a home recording, sung very beautiful in 3-part harmony. Is that Charly Hodge doing the high tenor part? But thanks anyhow for the lyric.
