i always listen to this song for comfort. i lost my husband last November, and our daughter was just 11 months and the way he loved her i always wonder how she is going to feel when she gets older with other children calling out their dads. The man loved our child to bits. It's just too sad that he had to leave us. He loved us both and waht makes it even worse is knowing that we will never see him again, my baby will never know her father's love, and she doesnt have any memory of him because she was just too young when he died.

This is the first time I have heard this song and I have to say it made me cry. I lost my father when I was 11. He had a brain Aneurysm while he slept and we found out the next day. After easter Sunday. My mother and Father were divorced before then, but my mom always tells me how he is the only man she ever truly loved. My father was a drug addict, and lost everything, four months before he died, my father was baptized and gave his heart to God, Finally. That was back in April, 2004 I'm 18 now and getting married in a few years, everyday my heart hurts for him but I know one day we will be together again.
I love you Daddy and I miss you more every day.

This is the most fantastic song, so true to most people and their feelings for their fathers, either passed or present. My own dad is unfortunately passed,and I miss him every day, however, I'm getting married 27th September this year, and I intend to dance to this in honour of my dad, with my brother who is giving me away. I took it for granted that daddy will alway be here and then one day he was gone and it was so unbelievable a world without this man who seemed like part of the structure...I love this song so much Luther captured the reality of a father/child relationship and I have so many great memories of dad even though it's been 8 years...he was the best dad in the world...he taught us all well...Monroe Cox was a blessed man and a legend and role model to all his kids. He was the dad God intended him to be and we are who we are today because of it.

I haven't lost my day, and I'm thankful for it everyday, but I still don't see him enough. I remember dancin on my dad's feet. Those were some of the best times of muy life. I love this song and, I hate to admit it but, sometimes when i hear it I think about all those times and i just break down. I love this song and I love Luther Vandross for singing this song.
