Elvis Presley Crying in the Chapel Lyrics

Last updated: 06/19/2014 03:46:44 PM

You saw me crying in the chapel.
The tears I shed were tears of joy
I know the meaning of contentment
Now I'm happy with the Lord

Just a plain and simple chapel
Where humble people go to pray
I pray the Lord that I'll grow stronger
As I live from day to day

I've searched and I've searched
But I couldn't find
No way on earth
To gain peace of mind

Now I'm happy in the chapel
Where people are of one accord
Yes, we gather in the chapel
Just to sing and praise the Lord

You'll search and you'll search
But you'll never find
No way on earth
To gain peace of mind

Take your troubles to the chapel
Get down on your knees and pray
Then your burdens will be lighter
And you'll surely find the way

This song is one of my favorite for many year, I woke up this morning singing it and good old google gave me the words. This song has been a real blessing to me and now I am happy in the LORD as there is no joy outside of HIM.

Since I was a chjld | Reviewer: Brenda Jenkins | 7/12/12

I have loved Elvis's "Crying In The Chapel" all my life. I listen to it almost everyday on Sirius XM. The Elvis Presley station is set on my radio in my car. There is a man that does a Tribute to Elvis in North Carolina and Tennessee. His na,e is Eddie Miles. He is the closest the I have ever heard to sounding like Elvis.

As a young child I heard this song, Crying in the Chapel, many years ago. A good 50 plus years ago. This song came to my mind tonight and I decided to google it. To my surprise I found it. I am delighted with Elvis Presley's rendition of this soul-inspiring song.

i love elvis's spiritual commitment | Reviewer: vickie beauchamp | 12/12/06

I have fortunately had a very committed spirit also in my life. It was inspired to me through my fraternal grandmother who always had a sweet smile and lots of love in her heart. Despite some very rough times and working hard only to stay at the poverty level, I have been carried through song and the spirit that is within me. This song and How Great Thou Art run through my head from my heart often and keep me in boundless love for our Father.
