Citadel Lyrics - The Rolling Stones
Review The Song (3)
Men are armed shout who goes there
We have journeyed far from here
On the Bible make us swear
Candy and Taffy, hope we both are well
Please come see me in the citadel
Flags are flying, dollar bills
Round the heights of concrete hills
You can see the pinnacles
Candy and Taffy, hope we both are well
Please come see me in the citadel
In the streets are many walls
Hear the peasants come and crawl
You can hear their numbers called
Candy and Taffy, hope we both are well
Please come see me in the citadel
Screaming people fly so fast
In their shiny metal cars
Through the woods of steel and glass
Candy and Taffy, hope we both are well
Please come see me in the citadel
We have journeyed far from here
On the Bible make us swear
Candy and Taffy, hope we both are well
Please come see me in the citadel
Flags are flying, dollar bills
Round the heights of concrete hills
You can see the pinnacles
Candy and Taffy, hope we both are well
Please come see me in the citadel
In the streets are many walls
Hear the peasants come and crawl
You can hear their numbers called
Candy and Taffy, hope we both are well
Please come see me in the citadel
Screaming people fly so fast
In their shiny metal cars
Through the woods of steel and glass
Candy and Taffy, hope we both are well
Please come see me in the citadel

My "Candy" is doing well based on a recent report; believe that the same is true of "Taffy" (at least I hope so. Love them both to death!) That song brings back only the best memories...great era, and, yes, the only really good song on the album. One of the few times i stray from hendrix was towards this song...otherwise, all jazz and world music for me. but keith and mick hit one out of the park with citadel~

A great song from their only psychedelic album 'Their Satanic Majesties Request'.The album didn't have much to offer except this.Almost all great psychedelic songs were released by artists in the year 1967,both in the UK & US
Questioning | Reviewer: Mike | 1/5/08
Your version of the song says:hope we both are well.(improper) Why not hope you(Candy & Taffy)both are well? Are you sure? Just wondering: Was that song based off Warhol superstar Candy Darling?
