Kamelot Abandoned Lyrics

Last updated: 11/09/2013 06:31:37 AM

Once my life was plain and clear
I recall
Once my ignorance was bliss
Nightfall came
Like a serpent’s kiss
To my troubled mind

Why... Oh why my God
Have you abandoned me in my sobriety
Behind the old façade
I'm your bewildered child
So take me cross the river wide

Binding promisses were made on my soul
Grand illusions lead astray
Ice cold winds swept my heart away
Bring me back to you

Why... Oh why my God
Have you abandoned me in my sobriety
Behind the old façade
I'm your bewildered child
So take me cross the river wide

-- Helena --
I remember a song
Like in a dream
Where September was long
And winter unreal

Why... Oh why my God above
Have you abandoned me in my sobriety
Behind the old façade
I'm your bewildered child
So take me cross the river wide

Great song | Reviewer: Mustakrakish | 11/9/13

A dillusion of an intellectual human, who feels that his God has abandoned him. Delivered by an unreal vocal performance of Roy Khan and a melancholic piano. Just great musical craft :)

true-to-life | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/6/11

This song expresses a situation, an emotion and a complete scenario that is so true-to-life. I hope that people who have gone through a similar thing can find a positive influence in this song. After all, already the piano at the beginning displays a longing for life or at least a sense of beauty that grows from an overwhelming feeling of love, even if that love has been lost.

Stunning | Reviewer: Lonely Soul | 6/23/07

This song is truly moving.I just love it,it's one of my favourite songs EVER and Kamelot... it's just an amazing band.Their music justifies their name.

Amazing! | Reviewer: Victoria | 9/18/06

One of the best songs I've ever heard because of Khan's voice as well as the melody...
