A Reminder Lyrics - Radiohead
Review The Song (11)
If I get old
I will not give in
But if I do
Remind me of this
Remind me that
Once I was free
Once I was cool
Once I was me
And if I sat down and crossed my arms
Hold me until this song
Knock me out
Smash out my brains
If I take the chair and start to talk shit
If I get old remind me of this
That night we kissed and I really meant it
Whatever happens if we're still speaking
Pick up the phone
Play me this song

I walked to it. | Reviewer: David | 4/6/12
this song played as i was walking in the woods that surround my neighborhood. san antonio texas is a really gloomy place if you pay attention. the intro with the PA announcements really struck a chord as well as the rest of the song; it was a feeling of content really, because it reminded me of that the world is really lonely but also beautiful. the duality of a song that feels like being stuck in a city with the depth of nature provided me with an enjoyable feeling.
TV shows that go well with this, Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL and, Dexter.

I was looking up a guitar tab for this song. Just something chill to play on a Sunday afternoon I thought, but I realized that while looking at the music the lyrics that they printed were wrong. I had to go to another site to read what they really were, and I'm so glad I did
WOW. this song literally took me back in time. I am a huge fan of radiohead, and it had been awhile since I had heard this song. Its lyrics and meaning just stuck that perfect chord within me. I listened to this 3 times back to back, and played along with it twice (best the third time :)
any fan or radiohead, and in my opinion any fan of music should have a moment to themselves to give this song a listen

I remeber when my Daddy told me to listen to a couple of songs by Radiohead...he told me that was what he did when he needed to think things over, and till day I see how right he was. Each and every single song by Radiohead is hauntingly amazing. I could never get tired to any of their songs. Emotions just seem to flow out of my eyes as I listen to their music. I still haven't thanked my Daddy -perhaps it's time that I should...after all, he introduced me to Radiohead...
Ouch! | Reviewer: Sharkey | 1/17/10
About a year or so into my relationship w/ my now exgirlfriend I began to question whether we should continue to see each other. She gave me the CD single that this song was on and we ended up spending the next seven years together. As fate would have it, out of all the songs Radiohead has performed and all the bands that play similar music, A Reminder came up on Pandora today. It's a beautiful song and I'm sure it will always have the ability to reduce me to an emotional lump.
Deceived | Reviewer: john | 11/29/09
I think that when people say radiohead is "gloomy" is because they only keep the outer part of their songs, slow and mild. But if you get to read these lyrics, you'll find another atmosphere, happiness and candidness

i heard an interview with thom about this song and he said that he had the idea that what if someone recorded a song and told someone else that if they ever went crazy they should play back the song to remind them of how they once were. The man is a genius.
When I get old... | Reviewer: Hardy | 12/15/08
This is a song that has that nostalgic feelings.. It's about leaving your current state and becomes what you may not like when you were young. And, you would really like to be reminded how you were and stay that way for its your ideal self, or at least, that's what you believe.

After listening to Radiohead for 3 years straight nearly everyday, you get into the head of Thom, you start to understand him, and this song is something that hasn't struck me until now. Beautiful. Near perfection.

For everyone who don't know what is saying in the beginning of the song, there's a czech metro message which is played in a train before it leaves the station. The translation is:
"Ukončete prosím výstup a nástup ... dveře se zavírají"
"Příští zastávka ... Jiřího z Poděbrad"
"Please end up entering or exiting ... the doors are closing"
"Next station ... Jiřího z Poděbrad"
I was very shocked when I've first hear this ... I was walking with my iPod and than the song came in. Wonderful moment :-)
