Feist 1 2 3 4 Lyrics

Last updated: 10/07/2014 06:38:30 PM

One, two, three, four
Tell me that you love me more
Sleepless long nights
That is what my youth was for

Old teenage hopes are alive at your door
Left you with nothing but they want some more

Oh, you're changing your heart
Oh, You know who you are

Sweetheart bitterheart now I can't tell you apart
Cosy and cold, put the horse before the cart

Those teenage hopes who have tears in their eyes
Too scared to own up to one little lie

Oh, you're changing your heart
Oh, you know who you are

One, two, three, four, five, six, nine, or ten
Money can't buy you back the love that you had then
One, two, three, four, five, six, nine, or ten
Money can't buy you back the love that you had then

Oh, you're changing your heart
Oh, you know who you are
Oh, you're changing your heart
Oh, you know who you are
Oh, who you are

For the teenage boys
They're breaking your heart
For the teenage boys
They're breaking your heart

Sally's Song | Reviewer: Mhor | 12/16/09

I love this song.. It was originally written by New Buffalo (Sally Seltmann) and called Sally's Song...

"I wrote the song '1234' after a good friend of mine told me she was leaving her husband. I was upset when she told me, and it made me start to think how all everyone wants in this world is to be loved, and that money can't buy you back the initial feelings you have when you first start falling in love with someone.

I wrote the song on a piano in the hallway of my house. During this time, I had been listening to Feist's album Let It Die. I thought my little song about lost love, and the hope to recapture what you once had, sounded too much like a Feist song for me to use for New Buffalo, so I shelved it. Then, in late 2005 I did a tour across Canada supporting Feist, and Broken Social Scene. After meeting Feist, I started to wonder whether she might like to do a cover of '1234,' but I was too shy to tell her about it. At the last Broken Social Scene show, I plucked up the courage to tell her that I had written a song which I thought she might like to use. We went onto the tour bus, and I recorded a simple version of the song into her laptop, with guitar and vocals.

To my surprise, she loved the song, and started playing it live. Her version was more upbeat and energetic than my original version, and she also added an unbelievably uplifting and catchy outro section. After she had been playing it live for a while she changed a few of the lyrics. I was happy with her doing this, as I loved the new lyrics she added, as they helped express the idea of longing for the love you once had with someone, as well as longing for that free spirit one has in their teenage years."

Amazing! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/13/08

This song is just amazing. Feist is an incredible artist. Her voice is calming and beautiful. This song is just so happy-go-lucky and it puts me in a good mood every time I listen to it. :) I love it very much.

woo-hoo | Reviewer: dying for good music | 2/12/08

I heard this on the apple laptop commercial and i began looking for it that day.
I was so excited that they put it on the Grammy's. Feist is what i consider a real artist, and good clean music.
Woo-hoo for Fiest!

Repeating the 1234 reminds us of the TRUTH...Sweetheart-bitter heart.. | Reviewer: mysticgeek | 1/7/08

The song is simplistic to remind us of the search for the TRUTH. Long night, left you with nothing, yet they want more, too scared,to own up for just one lie, because "money can not buy you LOVE you had before"...But the good news is " the Change in your Heart...." We all know who we are...Yes it's Kick Ass Bad. Forgive me for paraphrasing...1-2-3-4

Sweet and Hopeful | Reviewer: Kate | 1/2/08

I think that this song is more hopeful than sad. Yes, it talks about forgetting about teenage hopes, but it encourages moving on and growing up; knowing who you are and doing what is right for you. I don't know about you, but those teenage years were quite enough for me, and I am ready to move on.

Makesmewanna | Reviewer: Ben'jammin | 12/30/07

There are few songs that make me wanna search em on the net. The sound is the thing. Then, when you put the visuals with it...even better. Finally, add the lyrics and there's a recipe for song that makes me wanna sing.

Thank you Apple | Reviewer: Gerard | 12/29/07

Old teenage hopes | Reviewer: Ochiee | 12/28/07

For those of you wondering what this is about ...
It's about (old) teenage hopes; hopes for our future that we have in our teenage years, created before we have matured and learned about the 'real' world. These hopes are often held on to for too long, even after we learn how impossible / improbable they might be.

what is she talking about ?? | Reviewer: Xmas | 12/23/07

I love this song, I heard it on the Ipod advertising and now listen to it on youtube. I sing with it too,but I can't understand what she is talking about. My mother tongue is not english and maybe you can help me ? apparently a few of you understood ? thanks :) !

1, 2, 3, 4, I'd love to hear this song some more. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/20/07

An amazing song by Feist that would have never been known to most if not for the iPod ad recently broadcasted for millions to see. A very catchy toe-tapper that gets stuck in your head and no one has the urge to get it out. Only the urge to sing it and listen to it some more. Also, the choreography in the music video is extremely well done and intriguing to watch.
I love this song along with many others.
Keep playing the song and people will keep listening. :)
